     We cordially invite you to join us for worship. We continue to offer Christian education and ministry services. We are part of a non-denominational fellowship of churches which seek to worship according to the teachings of Christ and his apostles as they established the church. We seek to be "Christians only." We recognize the authority of Jesus (Matthew 28:18) and therefore, do not recognize man-made creeds, traditions or power structures.

            Our Mission

Our mission remains winning the lost and leading Christians to serve their Lord in accordance with the teachings of the New Testament. We find it both humorous and tragic that when identifying ourselves as Christians, someone invariably asks, "What kind?" Can you imagine the apostles being asked that question? We seek to be Christians in the same way the first disciples were, without man-made teachings, traditions, names, denominational structures and so on. Over the years, a number of historic slogans have helped to express who we are and what we seek to accomplish: We are not the only Christians, but we are "Christians only." No creed but Christ, no book but the Bible. In essentials, unity. In opinions, liberty. In all things, love. Essentials are those commands, ordinances etc. specifically commanded by the Lord or His apostles. Beyond this, we recognize a variety of subjects on which there is no direct command of the Lord, hence, the right to freely hold one's own opinion (in opinions, liberty). Finally, we recognize that we must always relate to one another in love (remember the second greatest commandment?).

ANGEL FOOD MINISTRY

Angel Food Ministries

is a non-profit,

non-denominational organization dedicated to providing grocery relief

to communities throughout the  United States.

First Christian Church is an approved host of the Angel Food Ministry.  The First Christian Church distribution site is located at the Somerset Junior High Cafeteria located along S. Columbia Avenue in Somerset.

May order forms are available in the mailbox outside of the Main Street entrance beginning on May 1st. 

Orders & payments (by cash, cashier’s checks, money orders or food stamps ONLY – no personal check accepted) can be placed at the church (please enter at the Court Avenue entrance) on the following dates and times:

May 16th: 

           11AM - 2PM,  4 - 6PM

May 17th: 

           9- 12 noon

No orders will be accepted after May 17th.

April orders can be picked up on Saturday, April 26th at the Somerset Junior High Cafeteria which is located on S. Columbia Avenue in Somerset. 

Orders MUST BE picked up between 8:00 - 11:00AM.  Please bring a large box or cooler to transport your food.

First Christian Church is located at 139 E. Main Str., Somerset.
